Our work in the Mediterranean depends on the support of a range of organizations:
Governments and development agencies partner with us to deliver large-scale programmes that support sustainable development and better management of the Mediterranean’s natural resources. Our public sector partners include the European Commission, the African Development Bank and government agencies from France, Italy, Spain, Norway and Finland.
Trusts and foundations fund projects that help us develop innovative solutions, from smarter fishing practices to climate change adaptation. Major donors include the MAVA Foundation, Drosos Foundation, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Gsell Foundation, Oak Foundation and Heinrich Boell Foundation.
Corporate partners not only fund conservation projects, but also work with us to improve their environmental performance and to transform the sectors they work in. Businesses we work with in the Mediterranean region include Coca-Cola (on water stewardship), IKEA (sustainable forest management), Portucel (paper sector) and Amorim (cork production).
WWF Network offices provide core funding costs, so that more of the money we raise from other sources goes directly to our conservation programmes.
You can help us protect the natural wealth of the Mediterranean and improve the lives of the people who depend upon it. We need to raise further funds to put our strategy into practice and bring successful solutions up to scale across the region.
